Job description

The welder-assembler’s main task is to preassemble the structures prior to welding. However, he may also be assigned to the following tasks :

  • Prepare parts for assembly.
  • Weld assemblies.
  • Correct deformities before or after welding.
  • Handle parts or assemblies, as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, as needed.

Requirements

  • Versatility and autonomy, ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to read plans.
  • FCAW/MCAW skills.
  • Ability to correct structures by flame straightening an asset.
  • Plasma and oxy-fuel cutting skills.
  • Ability to produce an assembly template an asset.
  • Ability to properly hoist parts before moving them.
  • Familiarity with the safe operating rules of a bridge crane.

Welder

Project manager

Job description

Project managers are assigned to one or more tasks from the list below, based on their skills :

  • Prepare quotes.
  • Assemble production files.
  • Make purchases.
  • Liaise with the client (manage exception requests, after-sales complaints, and other similar tasks).
  • Follow up on inspections and tests.
  • Inspect the deliverable (in some cases).
  • Prepare the inspection and test file for submission to the client, on request.
  • Schedule product shipments.

The project manager may be asked to perform other tasks, based on his skills :

  • Lead an improvement activity.
  • Assist Production with maintaining certain programs (e.g., the equipment preventive maintenance program).
  • Develop IT solutions.

Requirements

  • Versatility and autonomy.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • College education in civil, mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems an asset.

  • Inspect prepared parts.
  • Handle parts.

  • Ability to read plans.
  • Ability to measure parts using a tape measure, square, or protractor.
  • Ability to properly hoist parts before moving them.
  • Familiarity with the safe operating rules of a bridge crane.
